Germany’s answer to efficiency.
Built for the public.

Delivered by a “consortium.”

They forgot one tiny detail: systems.

Unbelievable when you are talking about Germany, right?

But real.

Fire safety? Didn’t work.
Smoke extraction? Backwards.
Wiring? Rewired 3 times.
Doors? Over 1,200 installed — then reversed — then reinstalled.

Because the systems didn’t talk to each other.
Because no one was in charge of systems integration.
Because... well, no one thought of it.

Seven CEOs later, they finally opened the airport.
Nine years late.
With most of the original private partners long gone.
Including the operator.

In the end, Germany — the country known for engineering — built the most expensive and empty airport for nearly a decade.

Originally conceived as a Public Private Partnership later it just turned into a public disaster.
Cost exploded from €2 billion to over €7 billion… and many more tales.

PPP or not, if your systems suck, your project will too.
No integration = no handover.
No testing = no passengers.
No brains = no savings.

You don’t need more concrete.
You need someone who actually understands how it’s all supposed to work.
