The 7 Brutal Truths That Made Me Money (Once I Finally Got Them)

Today is weekend, and you deserve a short break.

So, different email today.

This is a personal reflexion on a mind shift that I’m living myself.

Most people struggle with money not because they’re lazy, but because they believe the wrong things.

And, OK. If you don’t want to use money as example, I’m fine.

Apply this to anything.

Your career or the education of your children.

It does not matter.

But think about it.

People chase tactics.

They copy trends.

They read books written by people who don’t even follow their own advice.

That was me too, until I understood these 7 brutally simple principles.

These are not “hacks.” They’re not “affirmations.” They’re mental frameworks that shift your identity and your bank account—permanently.

1. Speak with Power. Or Don’t Bother Speaking.

Eloquent people make more money.

Or make career changes… or get their child to eat dinner.

And this works, not because they’re smarter. But because clarity creates trust. And trust gets you where you want.

If you mumble, ramble, or overexplain—you lose.

Train your communication like a weapon.

Speak so clearly people think, “This person knows exactly what they’re doing.”

2. Your Client, Your Banker, Your Broker, Your Lawyer, Is Not Your Enemy.

Many people approach key people with fear or defensiveness.

They assume they will attack them, reject them, or manipulate them.

That mindset kills deals.

Treat your team as partners, not predators.

The more relaxed you are, the more they trust you.

3. Trust Is Worth More Than Anything.

Your product can be mediocre. But if people trust you, they’ll buy.

Your product can be world-class. But if they don’t trust you, it’s dead.

This is why branding matters. Why presence matters. Why showing up consistently matters.

Trust is the currency. Specially in the era of AI.

4. Show Up Every Day. Consistency Always Beats Talent.

The winners don’t do extraordinary things occasionally.

They do simple things every single day.

You don’t get paid for what you know. You get paid for what you finish.

5. Copy People Who Are Already Winning.

Stop reinventing the wheel. Start stealing the engine. Find people who are making the money you want to make, or that know more than you in any field you’re interested, and model their moves. Not blindly. But strategically.

If you can’t explain why they’re succeeding, you haven’t studied hard enough.

6. Listen First. Then Solve.

Most people pitch too early. Way too early. They talk, they assume, they sell—without understanding.

Slow down. Ask. Listen. Dig.

Only when you truly understand the other person’s problem, you can provide solutions.

7. Discipline > Motivation. Always.

Motivation is for amateurs.

Pros rely on structure, not feelings.

They don’t ask: “Do I feel like doing this today?”

They just do it.

Ask Nike why their moto is so powerful.

Final Words: Pick One. Apply It Today.

You don’t need to master all seven today. You need to start with one.

Pick the one that stung the most. That made you uncomfortable. That exposed a blind spot.

Apply it. Relentlessly.

People believe that the world has not changed and won’t. Agencies and minister all along the world talk about tolls. They still have not seen the post-covid world. As they have probably never worked in their life… they don’t see the empty offices on Fridays. People stay at home more. Self-driving cars will be able to bring you to the office and send you back for less than the cost of the parking. People are still developing family homes, standing along in a piece of land. Single story. 400m2...

A construction company, an engineering firm, and a team of highly paid lawyers sat in a glossy boardroom to finalize a $300 million infrastructure contract. Everyone was ready to sign—except for one guy. Let’s say that his name was Barry. So, everyone was ready to sign except for… Barry, the junior lawyer. Con dos cojones… (or with two balls). He leaned in dramatically, tapped a paragraph, and said: “We can’t proceed. Clause 14.3 doesn’t define what constitutes ‘substantial completion’.” The...

I don’t like queuing. It creates an allergic reaction impossible to mitigate even with antihistamines. My body reacts with anguish. It’s the ultimate hobby of poor people. Poor in mindset. Poor in cash. The first brings to the second in no time. It cannot be in any other way. People that value so little their time that are able to wait for 30 min to grab some fries cannot expect to make very valuable things with their time. If there is a VIP line, I’ll be there. If there is a way to jump the...
