When I assess how most professionals and entrepreneurs manage their time, I see the same mistake on repeat. They treat every task as equally important and/or equally urgent. So, they get bogged down with massive to-do lists, where responding to administrative emails assumes the same importance as servicing top clients. Stress is high. Burn-out massive. Effectiveness low. Results inexistent. Your tasks shouldn’t all carry equal weight. And some of the tasks on your list may not deserve any of your time at all. I know that it’s hard, but… that’s life. There is a 2x2 Decision Framework. It’s a practical way to keep your sanity intact so you can focus on your most important work. This framework forces every task on your list into one of four categories: 1. Do Now: High urgency, high importance I see many people gamifying tasks, feeling good about writing down another tick, done. But then, they get frustrated because they don’t see results. Your time and energy are your most precious assets. Wasting your time ticking boxes for a momentary reward of dopamine is not going to bring you closer to your objectives. Sticking to what’s important is. It’s hard. It works. You’ll thank me for that. So, next time that you have your inbox full of messages where you are CC… think of which quadrant that task is… Then, press DELETE. If learning new things, progressing into your personal growth through mentors and coaches is a priority for you, you can SCHEDULE below.

Yesterday I heard: “I’m too old to change career.” C*jonudo. Look. Think of Bernie Marcus. He was 49 when he got fired from his executive role at a hardware retail chain. The 70s. No InfoJobs. No Trade Me. No LinkedIn. And I doubt he felt like photocopying his CV and knocking on doors. If you’ve been there… you know. So he sat down in a café with Arthur Blank and made a decision: He was going to destroy the people who had fired him. I like that. Vengeance is underrated fuel. Together, they...
Last weekend, New Zealand was hit by another cyclone. If you’re still sceptical about climate change…just look at the statistics. Or your insurance premium. But that’s for another day. This time, the damage was limited. Much less than the previous cyclones. And here it comes… “They exaggerated.” “It wasn’t that bad.” “We overprepared.” The usual. Short-term memory. Short-term thinking. The same people who forget that not long ago we had: warnings that were too soft impacts that were worse...
“Surely the English hate me, but the Scots love me… and that’s what matters.” — Diego Armando Maradona There’s an immortal lesson in that sentence. You’re not going to be popular defending PPPs. Pushing PPPs. Loving PPPs. Delivering PPPs. Or being the one in the room who actually understands them. And that’s fine. Because this isn’t about popularity. It’s about outcomes. Think of: the banks the equity providers the consultants …and yes, the taxpayer When PPPs are done right, they work. When...
